Programs for men as a response to gender-based violence in chile: limits and progress

Keywords: Gender violence, programs, rehabilitation, perpetrators of violence, HEVPA Centers

Abstract

This article discusses the limits and evolution of the programs for men as a criminal policy strategy to confront the gender violence in Chile. To achieve the proposed aim, we will make a legal-criminological analysis of the incorporation of these interventions in the legal sphere, in state policies for the prevention and repression of gender violence, as well as the studies available on their results. The conclusions include some proposition directed to improve and to show how the interventions can be a judicial response that contributes to reducing gender violence, only if they are based on scientific evidence.
