Abstract
El estudio del fenómeno populista ha sido abordado de forma interdisciplinar desde la ciencia política, la sociología y la filosofía. El carácter heterogéneo de los partidos, movimientos y líderes que han sido descritos con el adjetivo de populistas provoca que la naturaleza y la dimensión del término resulte confusa y vaga. El lector que busque en esta obra una descripción sistemática e integral del fenómeno no verá colmado sus deseos, pues, no es intención del autor proporcionar una respuesta a un interrogante que ya muchos han intentado responder sin éxito. El propósito que persigue Giuseppe Martinico con su obra es de otra índole, lo que el profesor italiano pretende es arrojar luz en torno a la relación que se establece entre constitucionalismo y populismo.
