Abstract

The European Union faces a crisis which offers a great opportunity to rethink, redefine and set the new basis for further steps of the European development. This seems to lead to a definitive constitutionalization, or metaconstitutionalization, as some authors had already defined it. It is facing challenges such as the achievement of an European citizenship, or the definition of the Member States role in a future political union.
