Constitution and artificial biointelligence: the NeoHuman-AI and the promise (or the peril) of a posthuman constitution

Abstract

The concept of biointelligence enhances human quality of life, accelerates genetic research, and advances medical science. While the aim of improving the human species and overcoming disease or dysfunctional conditions is commendable, practices such as AI-driven genetic enhancement, algorithmic genomic manipulation, and intelligent gene editing raise profound ethical concerns. These developments challenge fundamental notions of autonomy, human identity, and informed consent, while also introducing risks associated with genetic intervention, including the potential erosion of the uniqueness and irreproducibility of the human condition and the need to safeguard humanity’s genetic heritage. Within this framework, this research examines the concept of posthuman dignity, understood as an emergent mode of existence in which algorithms and biotechnology play a central role in shaping a neo-human paradigm. This paradigm envisions a hybrid human condition that integrates biological and technological dimensions, thereby challenging the traditional boundaries of what it means to be human.
