The assessment carried out by FECYT confirms that the journal meets the six criteria required by this European platform for diamond open-access journals.

25 March 2026. Estudios de Deusto. Revista de Derecho Público, published by the Faculty of Law at the University of Deusto, has reached a new milestone in editorial quality with its inclusion in the Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH), following an evaluation carried out by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

The FECYT has informed the editorial team that the journal meets the six criteria of the DDH: persistent identification, status as an academic journal with explicitly described peer-review procedures, open access with open licences, no publication charges, openness to all authors, and community ownership. This recognition places the journal within a European initiative that identifies academic publications committed to a diamond open access model, under which neither reading nor publishing incurs any costs for the academic community.

Joining the Diamond Discovery Hub reinforces the journal’s commitment to scientific quality, editorial transparency, open science and the dissemination of legal knowledge without financial barriers. It also recognises the University of Deusto’s work in promoting sustainable, inclusive publishing models that are geared towards supporting research.

With this new milestone, Estudios de Deusto. Revista de Derecho Público consolidates its academic standing in the field of public law and strengthens its profile within the European ecosystem of open-access academic journals.
