Human dignity and the patenting of biotechnological inventions

Abstract

From the analysis of two judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the Directive on the legal protection of biotechnological inventions, the author addresses in this work the implementation of the right to human dignity, enshrined in art. 1 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, in the process of patenting of biotechnological inventions resulting from research that used human embryos as raw material.
